Nonetheless, government agencies make it difficult to legally upgrade your vehicle. We removed the soft limiter that comes in 600RPM before the factory RPM limiter. An ECU flash produces the greatest benefit on a modified bike, but even a bone-stock motorcycle can benefit, which means your standard emissions-related hardware would all still be intact.
The soft limits are where the R18 will start to close the throttle and limit torque by itself near the RPM limiter. The OEM throttle model has “soft” and “hard” limits.
